Refund policy

Return and Refund Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

House of Mani is operated by GOLD BOX JEWELS AND MARKETING (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED (GSTIN: 08AAMCG9315P1ZT). This policy explains when an order may be cancelled and when a return, size replacement or refund is available. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Authorised online point of sale. The Website at houseofmani.co.in is House of Mani’s only authorised online point of sale. We do not currently authorise any other website, marketplace, social-media page, messaging account, reseller or payment link to accept online orders or payments on our behalf. This policy applies to orders that our records verify were placed directly through the Website, without limiting a remedy that applicable law requires in relation to a genuine House of Mani transaction.

1. No change-of-mind returns

We do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds solely because of a change of mind, personal preference, a customer ordering an incorrect product, or a product not suiting the customer where the product supplied is not defective and materially matches its description.

This restriction does not affect remedies available for a defective, deficient, damaged, incorrect, spurious, counterfeit, materially misdescribed or otherwise legally non-conforming product.

2. Order cancellations

You may request cancellation before dispatch by contacting us with the order number. We will make reasonable efforts to stop fulfilment, but cancellation is not guaranteed once packing or dispatch processing has begun. If a pre-dispatch cancellation is approved, we will initiate a full refund of the cancelled amount to the original payment method.

If House of Mani cancels an order after receiving payment, including because of genuine stock unavailability, an obvious pricing or catalogue error, payment failure, legal restriction or inability to deliver, we will initiate a full refund of the cancelled amount.

After dispatch, an order cannot be cancelled solely for change of mind. If a customer refuses delivery without an eligible product or delivery issue, we may deduct only the actual, documented outward and return-to-origin logistics cost from any amount otherwise refundable, and only to the extent clearly disclosed and permitted by law. Repeated unjustified refusal or cash-on-delivery abuse may result in future orders being limited to prepaid payment. No cancellation charge will be imposed contrary to applicable law.

3. Size replacements

Size replacements are available only for rings, kadas and bracelets. A request must be submitted within 48 hours after recorded delivery and must identify the required replacement size. A voluntary size replacement is subject to the product being unworn, unused, unaltered and returned with its original box, packaging, tags, barcode, accessories, certificates, promotional gifts and invoice, where applicable.

Only one voluntary size replacement is available per eligible item. Replacement remains subject to the requested size being available and to inspection of the returned item. House of Mani will arrange and bear the cost of one approved pickup and one replacement delivery. If the requested size is unavailable, House of Mani will arrange pickup at its cost and initiate a refund to the original payment method after the returned product is received and verified.

The customer must be reasonably available for an agreed pickup and replacement delivery. Where an additional attempt is required solely because the customer supplied incorrect information or was unavailable for an agreed attempt, the actual additional logistics cost may be charged with prior notice, to the extent permitted by law. No additional cost will be charged for failure attributable to House of Mani or its authorised courier.

4. Products damaged during shipping

If a product is received with visible transit damage, notify us within 48 hours after recorded delivery and submit a clear, continuous unboxing video showing the unopened outer package, shipping label, package seals, the complete opening of the package and the damage discovered. This video is required for our standard transit-damage verification process because House of Mani records the condition and packing of products before dispatch.

If the outer parcel is visibly opened, materially damaged or tampered with, refuse delivery where practicable and notify us promptly. Accepting a parcel, or being unable to inspect it immediately, does not automatically waive a right available under law.

If you are unable to provide an unboxing video, contact us promptly and provide all other reasonable evidence available. A genuine statutory claim will not be refused solely because an unboxing video is unavailable where the issue can reasonably be established through other reliable evidence.

After discovering alleged transit damage, stop using the product except where reasonably necessary to inspect it, preserve the product and all packaging, and do not alter, repair or further damage it. Damage deliberately caused by the customer, or damage arising after delivery through wear, misuse, mishandling, impact, improper storage, alteration or unauthorised repair, is not eligible for replacement or refund.

5. Defective, incorrect, spurious, misdescribed or late products

A product that is defective or deficient, incorrect, spurious or counterfeit, materially different from its description or agreed specifications, or delivered after the stated delivery schedule—except where delay resulted from force majeure—may be returned for the replacement, refund or other remedy required under applicable law.

For artificial, imitation, fashion, plated or polished jewellery, plating, polish, colour and surface finish are not permanent. Their appearance and useful life vary with frequency of use, friction, perspiration, individual skin chemistry, moisture, water, perfume, cosmetics, lotions, hairspray, soap, household or commercial cleaners, acidic liquids, alcohol, ammonia, direct sunlight, excessive heat, impact, tugging, pulling, cleaning method and storage. Unless an express written warranty on the applicable product page states otherwise, no fixed duration is promised for plating, polish, colour, shine or stone retention.

Gradual fading, tarnishing, discolouration, scratching, loss of shine, or loosening or loss of stones caused by ordinary wear and tear, friction, impact, moisture, chemicals, cosmetics, improper use, cleaning, handling or storage is not treated as a manufacturing defect. Customers must follow the care instructions shown on the product page and in our Terms of Service.

A report of unusually rapid deterioration, defective plating or workmanship, or a stone becoming loose or falling because of a possible setting defect will be assessed individually. We may reasonably request photographs, usage and care information and inspection of the product, and may compare these with the applicable product description, any express warranty, dispatch condition and other available evidence. This distinction does not limit a remedy for a defective, materially misdescribed or otherwise legally non-conforming product.

Failure to follow the disclosed jewellery-care instructions—including exposure to water, moisture, sweat, perfume, lotion, cosmetics, hairspray, soap, household or commercial cleaners, acidic liquids, alcohol or ammonia; exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat; wearing jewellery while sleeping, bathing or exercising; improper cleaning or storage; impact, friction, tugging, pulling or rough handling—may cause fading, tarnishing, discolouration, scratches, breakage, or loosening or loss of stones. To the fullest extent permitted by law, House of Mani will not be responsible for deterioration, damage or loss caused or materially contributed to by such failure, misuse, ordinary wear and tear, impact, alteration, unauthorised repair or improper handling or storage.

Visible issues—including missing or loose stones, damaged or uneven polish, discolouration, scratches, breakage or any condition reasonably discoverable upon delivery—must be reported within 48 hours of recorded delivery with clear photographs or video. Claims reported later will ordinarily not qualify under our voluntary replacement or refund policy because delayed reporting may prevent reliable verification of the product’s delivery condition.

An alleged defect that could not reasonably have been discovered through inspection within 48 hours must be reported promptly after discovery, together with photographs, usage history, care details and other reasonably available evidence. Delay may be considered when assessing causation and may result in rejection where it prevents reliable verification or the evidence indicates normal wear, misuse, impact, moisture, chemical exposure or improper storage. These reporting requirements and exclusions do not apply where the customer establishes an existing manufacturing defect, material misdescription, breach of an express warranty or another liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

Notify us as soon as the issue is discovered and provide the order number together with clear photographs, video and other information reasonably demonstrating the issue. Stop using the product after discovery except where reasonably necessary to inspect it, and take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage.

For an approved claim, House of Mani will arrange and bear the cost of return pickup. Where a suitable replacement is unavailable, the replacement fails to resolve the issue, or a refund is otherwise required under applicable law, the refund will be made to the original payment method.

No general commercial warranty. Unless an express written warranty is displayed on the applicable product page at the time of purchase, House of Mani does not provide a separate commercial warranty or guarantee concerning a product’s useful life, plating duration, polish, colour, shine, stone retention or resistance to wear. This does not exclude mandatory remedies for a proven manufacturing defect, material misdescription, breach of an express warranty or another legally non-conforming condition.

No after-sales repair or restoration service

House of Mani does not ordinarily provide paid or complimentary repolishing, replating, refinishing, stone resetting, stone replacement, repair, alteration or restoration services after delivery unless such a service is expressly offered or agreed by us in writing.

We are not responsible for arranging or bearing the cost of such work where fading, tarnishing, discolouration, scratching, breakage, or loosening or loss of stones results from ordinary wear and tear, failure to follow disclosed care instructions, moisture, perfume, cosmetics, chemicals, friction, impact, improper handling or storage, alteration, or unauthorised repair.

Customers must not send jewellery to us for repair or restoration without prior written authorisation. An unauthorised parcel may be refused where its identity, condition or chain of custody cannot reasonably be verified. Work performed by an unauthorised third party may prevent reliable verification of a later claim.

This section does not restrict any repair, replacement, refund or other remedy required under applicable law where the customer establishes an existing manufacturing defect, defective stone setting, material misdescription, breach of an express warranty or another legally non-conforming condition.

6. How and when to submit a request

Submit a request using the contact details in Section 13. Include:

  • the order number;
  • the customer’s name and registered contact details;
  • the product concerned and a clear description of the issue;
  • the date the issue was discovered;
  • the requested size or preferred resolution, where relevant; and
  • the photographs, video or other supporting evidence reasonably available.

A claim must be supported by the order number, invoice or another reliable record establishing that the product was purchased directly through the Website. Absence of the original invoice will not automatically defeat a claim where the purchase can be reliably verified through our order records.

A 48-hour period stated in this policy is measured from the courier’s recorded delivery time, subject to reliable contrary evidence. Submitting a request within 48 hours does not automatically establish that a claim is valid; eligibility is determined through reasonable verification. A failure to meet a voluntary size-replacement window does not extinguish a separate non-waivable statutory remedy.

7. Authorised pickup and chain of custody

Do not send a product back independently unless House of Mani gives written instructions. After accepting a product for inspection, we will provide pickup instructions and arrange an authorised courier. An independently dispatched parcel may be refused where its identity, condition or chain of custody cannot reasonably be verified, without limiting a remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Before handover, pack the correct product and all required contents securely. We recommend recording photographs or video showing the product, included contents, sealed return parcel and shipping label. Hand the parcel only to the authorised courier and retain the pickup receipt, tracking number or other acknowledgement.

After proper handover to our authorised courier against a valid acknowledgement, House of Mani will bear the ordinary risk of loss or damage in return transit, except to the extent a loss results from customer fraud, prohibited contents, deliberate misdescription or materially inadequate packing by the customer.

8. Required return contents and condition

The returned parcel must contain the same jewellery supplied with the order and everything originally included with it, including the original box, packaging, tags, barcode, accessories, certificates, promotional gifts and invoice, where applicable. The customer must not remove, replace, switch, alter, repair or intentionally damage any product, stone, component, tag, barcode, seal or identifier.

For voluntary size replacements, the product and all supplied items must be unworn, unused, unaltered and in their original condition. For a defect, damage, incorrect-product, misdescription or other statutory claim, opening the packaging or reasonably inspecting the product will not by itself invalidate the claim. Removal of a tag or seal may be considered as evidence together with all surrounding circumstances, but will not automatically defeat a statutory claim.

9. Inspection and evidence review

Pickup authorisation, collection of a return or acknowledgement of a request does not constitute final acceptance of the claim. Returned parcels and products will be inspected after receipt. House of Mani may record the return opening and inspection and compare the product with the customer’s evidence and our order, packing, dispatch, delivery and pickup records.

The review may consider product identity and security markers, tags and barcodes, parcel weight, packaging, stones and components, finish and wear patterns, signs of impact or exposure, alteration or repair, dispatch condition, delivery evidence and consistency of the claim chronology. No single record will necessarily be treated as conclusive; the available evidence will be considered reasonably as a whole.

To the extent permitted by law, a claim may be declined where documented evidence reasonably establishes product or component substitution; missing contents; deliberate damage; material use or wear inconsistent with reasonable inspection; misuse; mishandling; impact; improper storage; alteration; unauthorised repair; or another condition arising after delivery that is not attributable to an existing defect or our breach. We will communicate the material reason for any declined claim.

10. Declined claims and return of the product

If a claim is declined after inspection, we will provide a written or electronic explanation of the material findings and offer to return the inspected product to the customer’s confirmed address. Where rejection is reasonably supported by evidence of an ineligible voluntary return, customer-caused damage, missing contents, substitution or other customer breach, the actual re-delivery cost may be payable by the customer with prior notice, to the extent permitted by law.

If our rejection is subsequently reversed or found to be incorrect, House of Mani will bear the applicable return cost and provide the remedy required by law. We will not dispose of a disputed product except with the customer’s instruction or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

11. False, fraudulent and duplicate claims

Evidence and statements submitted with a claim must be genuine, complete in all material respects and relate to the actual order, parcel and product. Edited, staged, recycled or misleading evidence; deliberate damage; false delivery denial; impersonation; product or component substitution; and attempts to retain both the goods and a refund are prohibited.

Where reasonable evidence indicates fraud, House of Mani may pause the resolution for proportionate verification, preserve relevant records, decline the claim with reasons, restrict future transactions and report the matter to the payment provider, courier, platform, insurer or competent authority as permitted or required by law.

Nothing prevents a customer from using a lawful chargeback or payment-dispute process. However, a customer must not knowingly obtain or retain duplicate recovery through a refund, replacement, chargeback, bank reversal, insurance claim or another channel for the same loss. House of Mani may take lawful steps to recover a duplicate or erroneous amount and any reasonable recoverable cost.

12. Refund processing

Approved refunds will be initiated within 7 business days after the returned product is received and the claim is verified, unless applicable law requires an earlier period. “Business days” exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public or bank holidays applicable in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Bank or payment-provider processing time after initiation is outside our direct control.

Refunds for prepaid orders will ordinarily be sent to the original payment method. We will not substitute store credit or another method where the law requires a monetary refund, unless the customer freely agrees. For cash-on-delivery orders, we may request verified bank-account or UPI details. The customer must provide accurate refund details; a delay caused solely by incorrect or incomplete customer-supplied details will not be treated as delay by House of Mani, provided we notify the customer promptly and resume processing after correction.

14. Applicable law and policy priority

Nothing in this policy limits any right or remedy available to consumers under applicable Indian law. If this policy conflicts with our Terms of Service on a cancellation, return, replacement or refund issue, this policy will govern that issue; mandatory law will always prevail over both.
